AEMC 3640 2114.92 3-Point Digital Ground Resistance Tester

The AEMC 3640 3-Point Digital Ground Resistance Tester performs ground resistance measurement, measures from 10M to 1999 Ohms, and is auto ranging so it automatically finds the best measurement range.

 

The 3640 is so easy to use, just connect the leads, press to measure, and read. The large LCD is nearly 3/4 inch high and indicates lead reversals, over range, and low battery status. 3 LED indicators on the front panel warn the user continuously of measurement problems to assure reliable and accurate tests.

 

The 3640 is fuse protected up to 250 Volts AC.

Applications
 

The 3640 is perfect for maintenance crews performing numerous tests, and is used in difficult conditions such as high stray currents that adversely affect accuracy. The 3640 can perform the following tests:

  • 3-point measurements for measuring resistance to ground of grids and ground rods.
  • 3-point measurements are usually used when the grid or electrode is easily disconnected, if corrosion is suspected, or where ground faults are unlikely to occur.
  • 2-point tests on pre-established grounds or for continuity on bonding. This test is commonly performed in urban environments where proper auxiliary electrode placement may be obscured by confined real estate. Measurements are referenced against a good local ground conductor.
