Use the CTL1000 to periodically check your sound level meter's performance as well as the microphone, which is the sensor component of your instrument. The CTL100 produces a stable acoustic 90dB signal at 1000 Hertz, automatically delivered as it is once plugged into the sound meter. Your sound level meter's value & the reference value cannot exceed 90 dB +/- 2dB difference.
